The Timeless Design of the Chelsea Boot
Honouring a design classic!
The Chelsea boot has earned its place as a wardrobe staple, thanks to a design that has truly stood the test of time.
Originally known as a paddock boot or jodphur boot, the Chelsea boot dates back to the mid-1800s when Queen Victoria commissioned her shoemaker, Joseph Sparkes-Hall, to create a practical riding boot. She needed a style that was both comfortable for walking and safe for riding—without the risk of her feet getting caught in the stirrups.
Fast forward to the 1950s and 60s, the boot gained its now-iconic name when it became a fashion favourite among the Chelsea Set—a group of artists, musicians, and creatives in London. Since then, its timeless styling and versatility have kept it a firm favourite for generations.
At Dedito, we honour this classic heritage with our Omnio boot—a modern take on the Chelsea boot. Crafted in Italy and available in nubuck, suede, and waxed leather, the Omnio combines classic style with practical outdoor performance. Featuring a waterproof and breathable Windtex membrane and a rugged outdoor sole, it’s designed for both city streets and countryside adventures.
