Full-Grain Leather: Strength, Durability, and Comfort!

When we decided we wanted to add a full-leather boot to the Dedito range, our Italian manufacturers advised there was only one grade of leather to consider: full-grain.

Full-grain leather is the highest quality and most durable leather you can find. It retains the original thickness, natural grain patterns, and oil absorption of the animal hide, making it stronger than other types of leather. Unlike lower grades, full-grain leather undergoes no sanding or harsh chemical treatments, allowing it to maintain its natural water-resistant properties, thanks to its oil-absorbing characteristics.

**Comfort that’s unique to You** As you wear your full-grain leather boots, the leather’s natural oils and fibres soften over time, moulding to the unique shape of your feet for a custom fit.

**Breathability for All-Day Wear** Full-grain leather is porous, allowing air to flow freely, which helps reduce moisture build-up and keeps your feet dry and comfortable.

**Caring for Your Full-Grain Leather Boots** Think of full-grain leather as a second skin—it’s a natural material that needs care to keep its quality and water resistance intact. Here are a few tips for keeping your boots in top shape: –

**Clean Before Storing**: Always store your boots clean—never put them away dirty. Make sure they are waxed regularly, using a good quality, natural leather boot wax.

**Proper Storage**: Store them in a dry, well-ventilated space away from excessive heat. Avoid leaving wet boots in damp areas or in your vehicle, as this can cause mould, discolouration, and unpleasant smells!

**Avoid Heated Floors**: Keeping your boots on heated floors can dry out the rubber soles, shortening their lifespan.
