How do you know which Dedito is right for you?

Which Dedito is right for you?

From the ankle-height Dodi to our most technically advanced boot the Moorland Pro, every Dedito boot has been designed for life outdoors and handcrafted in Italy. But differences in height, ankle support, construction, materials and technical features mean each model offers something slightly different.

The terrain you cover is an important place to start. A lower boot gives you greater freedom around the ankle, while a taller boot can provide valuable ankle and lower-leg support when you’re crossing rough, uneven or steep ground.

So, whether you’re looking for a boot for a day in the field, working outdoors, training dogs or simply clocking up the miles in the countryside, here’s how the Dedito range compares.

Five boots. Which one is right for you?

The Dodi: our versatile, ankle height option

At 16cm high, the Dodi is the shortest boot in the Dedito range and a good choice for those who prefer the freedom and flexibility of an ankle boot.

Made from Italian nubuck leather with our signature protective PU coating, the Dodi combines a Windtex® waterproof membrane with a Vibram® Foura sole for grip and stability underfoot.

Its’ lower profile makes it particularly well suited to everyday countryside use, dog walking, agriculture, gundog training and days in the field when you don’t need the additional ankle and lower-leg support of a taller boot.

Choose the Dodi if: you prefer greater freedom around the ankle and want a versatile boot for everyday outdoor wear.

The Luca: our stylish, mid-height model

Want a little more support and coverage without moving to a full-height boot? Meet the Luca.

At 23cm, the Luca sits neatly between the Dodi and our taller 28cm models. Its mid-height design provides additional support around the ankle and greater coverage than the Dodi, while retaining the flexibility many people prefer from a shorter boot.

Like the Dodi and Moorland, it features Italian nubuck leather with our protective PU coating, a Windtex® waterproof membrane and Vibram® Foura sole.

It’s a versatile choice for everything from field sports and gundog training to stalking, dog walking and days across heather moorland.

Choose the Luca if: you want a balance of ankle support, coverage and flexibility without moving to one of our tallest boots.

The Moorland: the boot that started it all

The original Dedito – and still our best-selling boot.

At 28cm high, the Moorland was developed for demanding British countryside conditions and has become a firm favourite with gamekeepers, beaters, stalkers, farmers and dog handlers.

Its taller construction and signature adjustable ankle strap provide support and stability across rough, uneven ground, while Italian nubuck leather with our protective PU coating helps guard against knocks, scrapes and abrasion.

A Windtex® waterproof membrane, cushioned insole and Vibram® Foura sole complete a boot built for comfort, protection and performance across varied terrain.

Choose the Moorland if: you want a proven all-rounder with the additional ankle support and coverage of a taller boot for long days over varied or uneven ground.

The Haakan: full leather, support and added warmth

The Haakan takes a slightly different approach.

Like the Moorland, it stands at 28cm high and features an adjustable ankle strap, providing support around the ankle and lower leg when negotiating uneven ground.

Rather than our PU-coated nubuck leather, the Haakan is made from substantial 2.6mm waxed full-grain leather, giving it the traditional look and feel many people prefer.

A Windtex® waterproof membrane is combined with 400g Thinsulate™ insulation, making the Haakan particularly suited to colder conditions and days where periods of activity are mixed with time spent standing still.

Kevlar® stitching adds strength in key areas, while its Vibram® outsole provides dependable grip underfoot.

Choose the Haakan if: you want the support and coverage of a taller boot, prefer full-grain leather and value additional insulation for colder days.

The Moorland Pro: our most technically advanced boot yet

The Moorland Pro takes the foundations of the original Moorland and introduces a new level of technical specification.

At 28cm high, its construction provides support around the ankle and lower leg, while carefully positioned flex points allow the boot to move where it needs to. This combination becomes particularly important over steep, broken and uneven ground, where stability and support underfoot matter throughout the day.

It features our signature protective PU-coated Italian nubuck leather alongside Kevlar® stitching and an abrasion-resistant Kevlar® collar.

Underfoot, the Vibram® Curcuma Multi Grip sole has been selected for traction and stability across demanding terrain, while a double-density PU comfort midsole provides cushioning and support.

Lightweight carbon fibre rolling eyelets allow smooth, even lacing for a secure fit, while our Dual Shield™ system works alongside the Windtex® membrane to provide a dual-layer waterproofing system.

Choose the Moorland Pro if: you regularly cover demanding, uneven terrain and want the ankle support, stability and technical features of our most advanced outdoor boot.

Which Dedito is right for you?

There isn’t one Dedito boot for everyone – because not everyone asks the same things of their footwear.

Start with the ground beneath your feet. Are you mainly covering tracks, fields and easier terrain, where freedom of movement may be the priority? Or are your days spent crossing steep slopes, rough moorland and uneven ground, where greater ankle support and stability become increasingly important?

Then consider the conditions you encounter, how much coverage you prefer, whether additional insulation matters and the level of technical protection you need.

As a quick starting point:

Dodi – ankle-height freedom and everyday versatility
Luca – mid-height support with greater flexibility
Moorland – taller support and proven all-round performance
Haakan – taller support, full-grain leather and additional warmth
Moorland Pro – support, stability and advanced features for demanding terrain
